The matrices are placed beneath the periosteal plane and rarely require fixation with tacks, indicated depending on their primary stability. The combined effect of cortical laminae or dermal matrices with soft tissues, resulting from bone distraction, promotes new bone formation; in this context, regeneration can be supported by the use of heterologous collagenated particulate (GTO) or, under favorable conditions, achieved solely through blood clot stabilization.
The main advantage of the L.A.R.™ technique lies in the long-term maintenance of regenerated bone volumes, achieved through the reconstruction and support of the buccal wall via a modular approach based on the use of cortical lamina and/or dermal matrix, with or without the aid of grafting biomaterials.
