In modern dentistry, the reconstruction of hard and soft tissues—whether for implant-prosthetic purposes or to recover damage caused by periodontal disease, as well as for aesthetic aims—represents a topic of great interest due to the availability of new biomaterials. The Perio Build Up technique allows horizontal and vertical periodontal reconstructions through the use of Cortical laminae and collagenated particulate. The connection between techniques and biomaterials is a very interesting field: many surgical techniques and clinical objectives are possible because biomaterials exist that allow their realization. In the Perio Build Up technique, the laminae are fixed via tacks to the periodontium, creating a very stable box into which the biomaterial is inserted in contact with the tooth roots. The entire site is then covered with a collagen membrane. The long resorption times of the lamina guarantee highly stable integration thanks to the strong vascularization of the bone from the collagenated biomaterial. The flap is in turn supported by the lamina and can be repositioned at the height chosen by the clinician, compatible with the height of the bone peaks.
