Technique

The BONE INTO BONE technique was created by Dr. Michele Lopez in 2020 and involves the placement of a rigid cortical lamina within the crest via a cut performed on the ridge itself using a piezo-electric device.

The technique is indicated for Class C defects (Misch-Von Arx classification), both in height and width.

A regular, deep groove is created in the sloping atrophic ridge to stabilize a rigid lamina capable of creating a suitable box for regenerative surgery.

The technique enables significant horizontal and vertical regenerations thanks to the stability of the lamina within the groove created in the bone. The rigid cortical lamina has an average thickness of 0.7 mm.

Therefore, fixation screws are not required. The optimal grafting material for this technique is GTO. The entire area is covered with a collagen membrane.
