Technique

The BPR technique concerns bone regeneration of atrophic ridges in the diatoric zone using resorbable curved cortical laminae.

It is a subperiosteal technique that allows significant horizontal and vertical regeneration and that often requires release incisions in the soft tissues to increase the availability of soft tissue covering the newly generated bone volumes.

The curved cortical lamina, 1 mm thick, can be shaped and trimmed to adapt to any ridge (which are usually asymmetrical) and is fixed with screws or tacks.

Unlike the use of meshes, even customized ones, the lamina does not need to be removed, which allows flapless implant placement 4 to 6 months after the first surgery.
