Tunneling as a Biological Approach to Peri-implant Hard and Soft Tissue Management.

The tunnel technique represents a predictable approach for soft tissue management in implant cases lacking a buccal cortical plate. The presentation illustrates diagnostic criteria, biological principles, and minimally invasive surgical protocols based on tunneling. 

The tunnel technique can be executed with tissue graft or DERMA matrix. In both cases the technique generates a increase of tissue thickness and Keratin level. Through targeted regenerative strategies, the technique achieves long-term stable aesthetic and functional results.
