The SINUS PACK technique was created by Dr. Michele Lopez in 2020 for maxillary sinus augmentation via a lateral approach.

The technique involves constructing a PACK using an X-Fine membrane and GTO bioadhesive collagenated heterologous biomaterial.

The PACK can be sized based on the quantity of GTO filler inside and is placed into the maxillary sinus through a lateral antrostomy. The pack is soft and is positioned inside the sinus using maxillary sinus elevators.

The pack can also be stabilized by suturing to better adhere to the defect.

The PACK settles in the ideal position within the maxillary sinus thanks to its stability. In the event of a sinus membrane laceration, the pack prevents biomaterial leakage into the maxillary sinus and facilitates its healing.

There are no contraindications for this technique.
