F.I.R.S.T. is a technique developed by Dr. Vincenzo Foti over the last 10 years and is applicable to 5 different protocols.
Management of post-extraction sockets.
Classification and guidelines for the treatment of post-extraction sockets.
• Protocol 1: Ridge Preservation. "Over-Grafting" with a barrier effect. No membrane, no sutures. Delayed implants.
• Protocol 2: "Shield Lamina". Reconstruction of compromised post-extraction sockets due to the absence of one or more walls. Immediate or delayed implants.
• Management of horizontal and vertical bone defects.
• Classification and guidelines for the treatment of bone defects in edentulous sites.
• Flap design, passivation techniques, suture techniques.
• Protocol 3: Horizontal GBR and Vertical GBR up to 4 mm with simultaneous or delayed implants.
• Protocol 4: One-Time Cortical Lamina. Simultaneous buccal GBR with immediate implants without re-entry for surgical uncovery.
• Protocol 5: Vertical GBR > 4 mm with simultaneous or delayed implants.
The F.I.R.S.T. technique is based on the bone tissue engineering triad: Sealing Fibrin, a drug validated by over 6,500 scientific publications, Collagenated Porcine Bone, and Collagenated Porcine Cortical Lamina, biomaterials supported by extensive twenty-year scientific evidence.
Thanks to their simplicity, the five F.I.R.S.T. protocols are accessible to all practitioners and allow the treatment of most bone defects through minimally invasive surgical procedures with low morbidity, achieving predictable and long-term stable results.
