Technique

The SINUS FLOW technique, invented in 2010 by Dr. Michele Lopez, involves inserting biomaterial into the maxillary sinus via a crestal approach using a driver called ML.

The GEL biomaterial (GEL40), composed of micronized porcine particulate and gel, is able to lift the Schneiderian membrane and fill the sinus at the same time.

The SINUS FLOW KIT includes pilot drills and flat-head drills to erode the sinus cortical bone.

Furthermore, it features stops for the ML driver designed to limit its penetration into the sinus based on the height of the residual ridge.

Finally, a connector joins the internally hollow driver to the biomaterial syringe, which in turn is inserted into a very lightweight plastic infuser with a worm screw.

The ML driver can be inserted manually, using a screwdriver, or with a handpiece driver attached to a contra-angle.

The SINUS FLOW technique is the only FLUID DYNAMICS technique capable of lifting the sinus membrane directly with the biomaterial inserted into it, in an atraumatic manner and free of risks even in the event of membrane perforation (the gel material is expelled through the nose like any gel).
