The MTG technique is a low - biological - impact tissue regeneration method, developed by Dr. Alessandro Minniti in 2019, that uses high-consistency acellular dermal matrices to achieve vertical and horizontal augmentation of soft tissues and, when indicated, simultaneous regeneration of hard tissues. Its rationale is based on the principle of controlled fibro-distraction: the matrix, stabilized in a supracrestal position, guides the formation of mature connective tissue within 3–4 months, allowing a stable increase in peri-implant and periodontal volume. The MTG technique relies on three key components: implant, prosthetic and dermal, working in synergy to achieve an ideal emergence profile, proper soft tissue support and predictable management of high-esthetic-value areas in a single surgical stage. Clinical results and multicenter studies document high implant success rates and a significant volumetric gain of supracrestal tissues, making MTG a reproducible procedure, indicated as an alternative or complement to autologous connective tissue grafts.
